The Spirit of '76 July 03 2026

Sometimes toymakers just can’t resist an opportunity for fun!
Our two oldest daughters are at camp this week, so we took a bit of time to celebrate the Spirit of ’76 with our youngest.
Building these days can be a bit more epic than in years past. She’s no longer "The Destroyer" and has very clear ideas about how to build.
We did some brainstorming and settled on recreating Independence Hall. We pulled up some images and took advantage of a warehouse full of blocks at our disposal.
The result? A sneak peek into some new pieces, a BIG build, and a proud little girl!
We used some (upcoming!) brown bricks, 3x2 paned windows, and a whole lot of bracing in the back to put this together. We used black roofs from the Haunted Mansion and topped it off with a clock face from London. Of course it needed grass, trees and cobblestones. Just like Philadelphia.
Once we finished, our love of history kicked in and we simply HAD to make some 'Founders' character blocks to bring life to Independence Hall. Can you guess who each person is?
We’re not sure which of us had the most fun recreating such an important piece of our history. Have fun celebrating with all of the special people in your life!
